Night In the 'Qua...

Night In the 'Qua... from robert dene on Vimeo.

memory in the 'qua
so fashionable these days.
Here was a time
when I was rotted
deep to the soil
with no freedom to live.

Your narrative becomes the details
you pick
to describe what you remember.
How ever, you don't live there
so by definition it is
a false construct
as accurate as it may be
to you.

John Doe and Kathleen Edwards

John Doe at Carnegie Hall...what a trip!...a far cry from the punk days of X..or so it would seem...John Doe was always an excellent craftsmen who sang with great soul and insight into the joys and foibles of modern love and his performance on Friday night was no exception.. Joined at times with Kathleen Edwards, an equally excellent singer songwriter from Canada who also voroicious talents in this area, the two put on a warm energized evening of songs...

I'm working in Briarcliff at the moment...it's such a small world...one of the women here with me is the mother of someone I used to know....

time...

time releases you from its bony hands
and your spirit flies in the silent night
jerry sings cold rain and snow
soon it will be time to don the costume
of the machine and make your way
past the snickering indifference of death
and human greed

fall...

the leaves turn yellow...winter sneezes its cold breath...where in full bloom in fall now...sound of leaf blower in the air...time undistilled disolves fast...the young twenty somethings searching frantically to search body fluids with someone else..pink hair...tattoos....cell phones...gum....earrings....indie rock...indie this...indie that...public relations...the bombs dropping...somewhere all the time...working...collapse of value...lies...self importance...parnoia...self consciousness...

"did you forget you were going to die?" the writer said through an impish smile, the smoke curling up in swirls from his clove cigarette...

Outside, the rain...

Outside the rain howls madly...ego seems so irrevelant now...everything I have perceived the world to be has not been remotely close...does this make me a loser?...seems pointless now the the stock market has lost a quarter of its wealth in a month...all those boys and girls who wear acting so large aren't acting so large now...

social media...

Wondering why my tweeter posts don't show up properly and what this means in my social community...watching different episodes of Videopoem on the site videopoem.tv. Right now The Man Only Was A Face...I am trying to get an objective feel on how people will be impacted by this material. My impression is that it's too dense for them and the shows are way too long...it is shame because it is their loss...I know it's wrong to toot your own horn but if one gives these shows half a chance they can take you to a place...they are Videopoems after all...honest expressions of the surreal nature of life...

So many blogs, so many cell phones, so many websites, so many social web 2.0 communities so many voices saying listen to me so many ways to do IT RIGHT like get the correct copy and tags and everyone's got thier own music station and tv station and it's all so easy and it ain't no work and how am I going to make an impact in this situation and the answer comes in from the crickets and jack kerouac and david amramm and that answer is I have to write and create because I have to do it and if it doesn't make an impact it doesn't make an impact becasuse how can one make an impact with all this noise and information splashing around in an insatiated world of consumption and greed but it feels good to let the words roll like how I use to make them roll here in the cocoon of my parents house light reflecting in the dark night with the show on a poet rapping kerouac ol' angel midnight so it goes...time to write yourself into the movie...

Videopoem Presents the Grateful Dead's

This is a video I made utilizing the music of the Grateful Dead and thier emphasis on the Buddhist point of view of how life is big wheel. To underscore this theme, I was fortunate enough to have video footage of my sister's children when they were one and two hence showing how the wheel had come around from us to them.

It had been fun kissing her...

It had been fun kissing her...somehow I was making out with this chick at the Patti Smith show...she was drunk...I was drunk...it didn't matter...for that moment we had connection...it had been fun...we met one more time after that...I bought her to a Sprinkle Genies show...before that we had met Benny's Burrito's...I had even bought her a rose...later when I talked to her, she said she had the rose in her room...

that was the last I heard of her..

They don't call anymore...when did the needs of the pussy become tied to the interests of the state?...they used to be turned on by his rebel stance...it seems so silly now...and pointless...but here he was...there was nowhere else to turn....it was time to write himself into the movie...
