The light..
If you go to the woods at that right time at certain times in the year the light comes down in angelic streaks...I was lucky to capture my friends Diane and Donna at such a time...

A video from Detroit
A woman I follow on Twitter who calls herself DamnRedhead and has a blog ThatDamnRedeadcaptured video of independent Canadian folk artist Amy Milan which I am posting here. I like following DamnRedHead and reading her blog because I find her comments funny and witty and the blog entertaining.

The Indians...
You can see why the Indians used to live in this town...there's a magical spirit that blows through this town despite the mugwumps who suck all the emotional energy out of the atmosphere...
Angelic Shot...
I had the privilege of taking some shots of Diane Nickerson in September. Here's one that casts her in angelic light, a favorite theme of mind as inspired by the Hudson River School...
Social conscience...
Governments, businesses, and organizations must adapt to a population that wields increasing individual power. Protestors used Twitter to discredit the election in Iran. When United Airlines refused to reimburse a musician for damaging his guitar, the offended customer posted a song online—“United Breaks Guitars”—and United’s stock dropped 10 percent.
Public discussion creates a social conscience.

The study of landscape...
Time goes so fast for me now...it like the days of youth when I could get lost in the dream of autumn..I can remember being in my early twenties taking mad hitchhiking trips through New England infused by the spirit of Jack kerouac and being mesmerized by the colors of the fall, sometimes the only thing look at while bieing hung up on some road waiting for a ride...but still, like the old cliche, I snapped this picture today and it's all so sweet..the golden light licking the hillside...
Down on the movie set...
Down on the movie set in the afternoon there are no lights on on the outside of the bank...on what allan bloom called the agora in the closing of the american mind the pedestrians move in mindless awareness doing thier mundane chores...in the qua a lot of people move with a stick up thier ass believing that thier shit doens't stink or they move with a hang dog look thier faces bearing the struggle to pay the steep taxes they pay in order to create their test tube children who will grow up with a sense of entitlement and enrich themselves at the expense of their fellow Americans...I guess that's harsh and judgemental but I'm not the only one who sees it...Howard Zinn, the esteemed historian from Boston University, has said American education is a failure because it does not teach it's students to make moral chocies...hence, eight years of mindless destruction in Iraq and
Afghanistan with no end in sight...I remvber sitting over futrher down on South Greeley Avenue by Starbucks when it had just been built back in 97 and we were commenting on how it looked just like 1966...you could see the winds of war blwing just like int hat year before the escalation of the Vietnam war...and yes I have been in this landscape longer than most so I am entitled to my own judgements and at night walk alone int he town watching the lights upon the bank..

Graffitti Bridge...
The Videopoem started off orignanlly as a cable access known as the graffittti bridge...the whole concept was the idea of making graffttt on themainstream wall...to create and achieve an identity in a homogenized world whose interests are dicateted by an insensitive corporate world. It was ahead of its time. The idea of walking around with a camera and making your own media and posting to the web was just in its infancy then. It was a long way from the social media world we have today with high broadband access and smartphone penetration. It was also a quest for transparency and to give voice to ideas completely ignored by the mainstream media. This was when mainstream media still had the workable business model of advertising. How funny is that?...Look how the mighty have fallen...The show became the Videopoem when I moved it down to NYC and didn't want to compete with another show called The Bridge. It ius a Videopoem because I use imagess assembled to tell a sotry...Videopoem also because since it is cross purposed with the web so it has the potential to go ciral and at time it has...the show runs into a problem where it is hard to get people's attention because people have been brainwashed to watch corporate media...they want big time productions with obvisou storylines filled with celebrities. The videopoem doesn't provide that...It's just me mixing on a mac. Someitmes thoiugh I sneak the video camera in and do tape some big names and put them on the hsow. I have always stood for the frew flow of information. The idea of graffitti is the sense disupting the authority of those who would stp that flow of information....
Not going to let them catch me...
I've got to run keep on hiding...I've got one more silver dollar...I'm not going to let them catch me...we had been talking about that song in the morning...I was telliing Raja how the New Castle PD had busted 23 kids in the gorge for drinking...but they didn't get me...they did, however, clean up all the empties...so much for walking down there and cleaning up a few to get a 12 pack of pbrs to stave off the existential dread...but so it goes...warm weather has returned to the qua and the big apple and I am past the point of caring...it looks like a good time to write myself into the movie...I ain't gonna let them catch me...

Woke up before the dawn today...just finished reading page six of The Post...this after a day of watching sports...American culture expert at reducing the individual to be spectator at the movie of their life...it's been cold and dark out but starting today but especially later in the week it's supposed to be sunny and warm...it is going to be a marveloius opportunity to get fall shots to compliment my seasonal study.....

Autumn from two years ago...
Autumn from two years ago...there is not much change accept that it looks like a warm sunny day that day as opposed to the wet drizzle and gusting winds that is outside today...it's about seeing...two years later here is the qua in this present...

Melanie...
Melanie runs the bar up at Mary's...a picuresque dive up in Mt. Kisco, New York which used to be Bosuns. Tough but fair she runs an orderly ship with the unruly crowd that patronize the bar...after Donny's funeral she allowed us to smoke in the bar in honor of him...

Hide and Go Seek...
When we were little we would spend a great deal of our summers out our cousins house in Breezy Point which is in Queens and has a fantastic beach...we would play epic games of hide and go seek running and hiding around the bungalows...

Tribute to Donny...
We had out tribute to Donny over the past weekend. We camped out in Whippoorwhill Park setting up a tent and a large fire. It felt really good out there in the elements although under sad circumstances. We shared Donny stories as well as other ones. Here's a picture of Lewin and Julie up at the bar at Mary's...

A walk on the farm..
Six degrees of seperation...we are all connected in an internet world...it becomes a matter of what we filter in terms of what we let in and what we keep out...there's so much information coming in...where do we start and we do we end...

Angelic LIght...
My nieces are visiting from Arizona and took them down into the woods. It was in the late afternoon and the sun was setting and I was able to catch the rays of light slicing through the trees to cast an angelic impression upon them...

Winter Solistic 08
Third stone from the sun...we're coming around the cycle again...I go deeper into my study of light and still clinging to the comedia del arte concept of being like a character from a Merle Haggard song...there's no point in compaining I've been down so long it looks like up to me...like Gorky's Lower Depths living in the bowels of society one learns to make new connections and found a different way of being...I have been listening to Exene's new album and the songs and lyrics ring true to my conditon...still going strong in my alienated condition...same as it ever was...

The light...
The above is the light from exactly a year ago today...influenced by Ralph Waldo Emerson as well as The Hudson River School I have been faithfully recording the light as it passes through the seasons..I have done this for no pay accept that I am driven to it by my muse..I admit it borders on craziness but it's fascinating to keep such a chronicle...it's like Proust's Things of Remembrance Past which was such a big influence on kerouac...consciousness is such a nimble thing....sometimes it changes violently but more often than not the changes subltly creep up unnoticed until they are suddenly upon you..I mean not to make any sweeping statements accept talk about how I am affected and the influences upon my aesthetic judgements...I'm all for watching football and keeping up with the latest stats but I feel there's got to be more than just that...watching what goes in my backyard is one way for me to keep abreast of such changes and doesn't cost anything, a perfect solution for a scum sucking poet...here are the pictures from today...

Night In the Qua...
Night in the qua...an image of night from a year ago...nothing is promised us...who knows what will be a year from now....modern moves so fast with less and less to say and less and less connection....the grey suited men and women indfiferent to the ravages of the bombs in iraq and afghanistan....smug america, we're the best of everything after alll...the kids, deep as their cellphones will take them, complex as their video games go, drift by in the lastest bubblegum image...
