I went to the levee but the devil caught me there...it's how I felt down at the Mudbowl on Saturday...there were some old familair faces down there that made me think of some debauched former times....

dance with shiva...
I went to yoga today in Dobbs Ferry...the club is right of the Saw Mill river Parkway...on the ride there I listened to a song on my ipod that featured me on acoustic guitar with a drop d and playing in the mixolydian and dorian modes and danny coming in a certain parts with spoken word....I never like the 50 mph limit on that highway...it makes for easy speediing tickets...and the tight road makes you stand out like a mark...

Hoping...
Hoping to make yoga class today but have to cowboy it down to Manhattan to hand in a new show ironically entitled "Namaste" because it ends with my teacher rapping about samsura which is about breaking out bad habits into the light...listening to wbai about japanese gangsters who operate in similiar manner to the bankers of goldman sachs...

yoga...
I didn't make yoga class tonight...the combination of having done the gutters, eaten too much food, plus the anal nature of the class, from the exactitude of the teacher to the uptightness of the professionals who take it killed my motivation...it's a long way from the dope smoking days of hippie yoga, eating m's while snowed in on the river way, John Lennon I Found Out blasting on the stero and then someone freinded me today on facebook who thought it would scary to hang out with me at a concert...how funny is that?

Sun licks the qua...
I learned to look at the sunsets in the 'qua in many ways and one of my most favorite one's was a description of a sunset in Henry Miller's "Tropic of Cancer" where in it he describes a blakean whitman type of nostalgia for the resturn of innocence and a denial of reason and industrailization and the devastating effects of technology...

Rain Fall Day...
Rain fall day wet warm sexual mist in the air writing a discipline I laughed at their intellectual crap it's so formal writing for me was and is confessional although that came close to burning out on that Metro North and the high rent of New York city everbody making it moving so fast lost in the narcotiized dream of indifference and their aging hipster cool...

Shook me down..
A State Trooper saw me take this picture and shook me down. I had to hand over my id and tell him everything about myself. He neithr told me my rights or what was the suspected crime. He ran my info through his database and aksed me if he was going to find anything that he should know about. As if he was doing me a favor, he kept saying he didn't have a problem taking pictures but just of the bridge. He further said we don't know what a terrorist looks like. I felt like saying to him I know what a terrorist looks like. "It's you." Now I sit here listening to WBAI of veteran horror stories and the hustle and the lies about the war and the real situation...corporate media on the tv lying the grey suited bankers on the train not giving a fuck about anyone or anything accept for robbing blind. And it reminds me of the Joseph Conrad line from the Heart of Darkness, "the horror."

The Weather...
the most remarkable thing about today was the weather...it was like 70 degrees and sunny out...I took a long walk through the town and woods taking snapshots....it's about learning how to see the famillair...and up ont he gorge, I met Michael Shapiro who is the conductor of the Chappauqa orchestra up in the gorge...I watch him on cable access periodically....I mentoned this to him and he seemed please. Needless to say he didn't recognize me even though my show has been on for twelve years...

The Road is long...
The road is long...along side that road are dead carcasses...some of are of former friends...other dreams...the debris of well intentioned thoughts in America lost in the narcotic of self aggrandizement...
I sat drinking ice coffee in the Barnes and Noble wondering if I should go out into Union Square to have a cigarette. I wanted to take a break from reading the Oxford History of American Foreign Policy. Compared to what you usually hear it was far different than the usual America is great bullshit..
And I remember reading Burr, Gore Vidal's history of Aaron Burr...needless to say, it was far different than what Doc Meredith what Burr had told me about. He was banished to what became known as Washington Heights. What most people don't know is that he was a very successful trail lawyer well into the 1830's and helped the Irish immigrants bring democracy to New York in 1820s. I would come down to the same Heights to get the good "shit" after working sixteen hours as a security guard in the Bronx.
And now I'm watching the tv after working over sixteen hours as a poll inspector and listening to Bloomberg spout his shit after over turning term limits...
yeah and i just the read a wikipedia that chappauqua is anglized named of an indian term of the land of whistlng leaves and indeed outside the leaves are whistling underneath the full moon that illuminates dreams as well as dead carcasses...
