videopoem is about motion...inserting ideas with energy into the mix...adding dynamic to the power relations in the scene...the context is the eye..using a multiple of tools to explore the range of thoughts...video,still,word...interjecting into the scene an aesthetic sense to add authenticity to the mood...America crushed under the plastic spoon of Madison Avenue sugar...bloated on mainline consumerism...modded out on junked fed image...in the still of the woods removed from the stink of the agora...there is a sublime peace that reigns there...in winter the light bisecting the snowy terrain with a multitude of shadows....
in the fall before the snarl of winter as summer releases its sensuous grasp the forest melts in sublime color...on an indian summers day the mind can drift in the beautiful colors of orange and brown...unfolding a deep aesthetic for the eye behold...
the sunsets magical in the qua...I sink into the cocoon of a house I call mine, its energy captured so well by the X song Blue House, the underground rejection of the American horror movie...the unfolding colors of the qua valley a sublime delight behold...
spring the return of hope and imagination as winter releases its mad grip upon our consciousness...the warm sensation upon our skin as we can drift into the light...
videopoem is about the capture of this motion of light and season...the camera chronicles the dancing ballet of light to illustrate this motion through time..

Journey Into Light
it always been a journey towards the light...to bask in the truth...to straighten out the thought to be able to see...in this regards I am the antithesis of the average American who seeks to join the corporation and make FIAT wealth...I believe more in the aesthetic of being...life as a process...to become centered in the self...I always took the hard way...I opened my mouth when I shouldn't have...this open nature always bought conflict...American society wants its citizens to be passive...to accept authority and not to question...they will give you all the tv you want but they wont' give you choice...choice is delegated to the few...
being has not been my choice...I want to see things work...what is the power dynamic behind the relations in any scene...it is amazing how at a young age people absorb the mores of the culture and become its willing accomplices in censorship....once I stepped out of line the abuse started...you're weird...you're stupid...you're this...you're that...these curses cane from people my age...why did they so easily become their parents?...
but the attraction to the light has been a stronger force in my life...as I write these words in the dark gloom of a forgotten winter's night I post the above picture because it reminds of the path towards light...

The New Year
the new year...new light...new thoughts...watching my show on cable access...the band Television on this episode...their melodic sound is hypnotic...it entices the listener into a dream world...my brother and I went to their new year's eve show at the Bowery Ballroom...it was a frigid night but the show was excellent...the band is tight and hasn't lost a step over all these years...it was the first time I was seeing them and I was not disappointed...I use to listen to them back in my freshman year at Clark when Mike Michaud would invite me into his room to check them out...they were famous for having been one of the original bands at CBGB's...they part of the punk revolution that also featured The Radmones and The Patti Smith Group...punk was a return to back to the roots of the music...to strip back the artfice and return to rock back to its essence which was a raw throbbing sound which the punks felt rock had lost...death tot he hippies and all that bullshit...the scene it didn't last long...coming from such a nihilistic view how could it?...I didn't like it when it was happening back then...the music was too limiting for me...I preferred the more lyrical inventions of the Grateful Dead and Hot Tuna who I felt had a command of their instruments and music...it's funny but now I appreciate the punk music...I don't actively listen to it but when it comes on the radio I listen or when my brother plays it I enjoy it...it's about the new light...new ways of seeing....
